I have so much to tell you! Earth Day was a blast. We
enjoyed the songs, contests and projects. The best, however, is outside.
Please take a moment to see the new plantings around campus. Your children
worked very hard weeding, digging and planting. If you would like to
sponsor a landscaping section somewhere around campus, we would love to
talk to you. I will dedicate the section to your family. With gratitude,
we thank the Llaneras family for their generous donation of lab tables and
a demonstration stand to our Science room. Good-bye white tables!
Congratulations to the Cruz family who won a special dinner prepared by
Chef Ray during the “Bunny Bingo” night at the PTO meeting. We also
enjoyed the preview showing of the Silver Ball video taken during the
event in February. Thank you Ana Cruz for thinking this would be a great
promo piece for our school. You were right. Grade 8 is scrubbing cars this
Saturday from 9:00am to 1:00pm at the Chevron station in Miami Springs.
(See Details below) If you need a wash or even if you do not, come on by
and support the students as they raise funds for their Tallahassee trip to
the National History Day Competition. Rudy Bozas, Marcel’s dad, finished
our brochure and just in time for the River Cities Festival. It is
beautiful. We have extras in the office. Come by and take a look. The
circus and spaghetti dinner is April 30. PK through Grade 3 is performing.
Tickets are on sale now. The price is all-inclusive. Dinner and a show for
only $6.00. If you wait and purchase tickets at the door the price is
$8.00. Sign up sheets for spaghetti supplies and volunteers will be
available Monday morning. Remember, this is the last opportunity to get
those volunteer hours. Special thanks to Kayley Fernandez, Mathias and
Catalina Wolff who worked for hours this past weekend in the taco booth at
the River Cities Festival. Weren’t those tacos delicious? I hope you had
the opportunity to come to the talent show last Thursday. It was the best
show ever. I enjoyed every moment of singing, dancing, instrumentals and
comedy. Evenings like that reaffirmed what I already know…we have amazing
children. I think my contribution to this newsletter is complete. Thank
you for your attention. Since it is so long this week, may I have a
reprieve for next week? Always a pleasure!
