Annual Circus
Once again the Preschool and Kindergarten class outdid themselves at our annual circus. We had weight lifters and tightrope walkers, performing lions and beautiful prancing ponies. Our Elementary children then did a wonderful rendition of "Be our Guest" to invite all the circus attendees to a delicious spaghetti dinner sponsored by our PTO. Ray Newlands did wonders with ground beef and sauce. Mother Keedy was our crew boss who put the parents to work in the kitchen. Poshon Rabade deserves a big thank you for organizing the event.
Science Fair
Our science fair was held after our last PTO meeting. With a pleasing crowd in attendance, our children accepted awards based on the best example of the scientific process. Some of the winners include Aaron Albiza, Kyle Safreed, Kamryn Safreed, Rolando Moro and Onima Heilbron.
National History Day Competition
Our 7th and 8th graders competed and placed in the National History Day Competition. Two groups went on to Tallahassee to represent All Angels at a state level. Please congratulate Tyler Bower, Christian Miranda, Daniel Tilton, Arturo Soto, Ashley Childress and Clayton Brock. The Miami Springs City Council will be recognizing their efforts at the next council meeting.
Episcopal Diocese Luncheon
Mother Keedy and I enjoyed a relaxing luncheon given by Bishop Frade at the Riviera Country Club. Once a year he gathers administrators from other schools in the Episcopal Diocese to relax, converse and share ideas.

Silver Ball Appreciation
What fun!! The Silver Ball was once again a success! Thanks to the efforts of Ana Cruz, Rhonda Calvert, and Joy Diaz the event was not only enjoyable but also profitable. Using a Renaissance theme, we held our party at the Miami Springs Country Club in one of their newly refurbished rooms. Several party goers dressed in Renaissance costume to add a realistic flare to a delicious dinner. Thanks Ana for coordinating such a fun night! Because of Rhonda's efforts, our Silent Auction topped out at $5,000.00. Joy, thanks to you for the beautiful invitations. Gilza Fort-Martinez, Myra Perkins and Suzy Gard lent a hand to set up auction items and put the finishing touches on the room. We appreciate all those who took the time to come party with us, those who donated services and other auction items and to those who purchased the actual items up for bid. My thanks to the staff and children for their efforts on the classroom auction items.
A Very Big Congratulations!
Congratulations to Alex Ganan who made it to the finals of the National Geographic Bee to be held on March 30th. We are so proud of Alex as he travels to Jacksonville to represent All Angels Academy.

Due to poor sponsorship response we have postponed the Renaissance Fair until October of next year. We are ever so grateful to the following ladies who have stepped up to the plate to make increased sponsorship their goal...

Drama class-Wednesday afternoon at 2pm for grades 3 - 8 and 3pm for grades K - 2

Breakfast with Santa
Many thanks to Mr. Alexander and Mrs. Schubert for putting together such a wonderful event. I must thank their spouses also who supplied the patience during the planning and preparation of this event. There are many faces I still see, Joy Diaz scrambling eggs, Karen Safreed spooning tater tots, Paulette Haedo guarding the bounce house, Balbina Gonzalez counting money, Mother Keedy shouting out kitchen orders, Suzie Donikian flipping pancakes, Terry Alexander working the camera or Suzie Gard and myself setting off the fire alarm 'cause the bacon pan got to hot!
Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Cruz, Collin and Jake who won the $500.00. To each and every one who took a shift working (or several), bought a raffle ticket or munched on some breakfast...we thank you. The final total is not quite in yet due to some outstanding receipts, but I'm sure the PTO will advise you shortly of the financial success.

Be on the lookout for the registration form for Holiday care. Andrea and Jennifer have offered their services. Deadline to register is Thursday, December 14th. Call Joy if you have any questions.

The church members are selling Poinsettas if you are interested in "decking out your halls" in Christmas red. They are $6.00 each or six (6) for $30.00. See Mother Keedy or Joy Diaz.

Looking For...
Do you know anyone presently in First Grade who would love to come to our school? We can scholarship two new students with some funds set aside for this purpose. Please contact me.
Wonderful Music...
The Preschool/Kindergarten children sang like angels at the Gazebo Friday night. I was so proud of their efforts. Kudos to the staff for their efforts. We only had one week to practice the songs and the teachers worked hard right along with the students.

Welcome Mrs. Guerra...
Please join me in welcoming Mrs. Nicole Guerra to the staff here at All Angels Academy. Mrs. Guerra comes to us with enthusiasm, experience and many new ideas. She has already made second grade her own. A special thank you to Mrs. Karen Safreed who pitched in and taught the class until a suitable replacement could be found. Thanks!

Looking For...
Do you play tennis or know someone who does? We still need a "bazillion" tennis balls to put on our desks and chairs. K-Mart also sells practice balls by the dozen. If you happen to run across any, please remember us.
How is your sense of style? We've received several complaints about our uniform company. Our relationship started out good, but something has obviously happened. To those of you who are frustrated, I apologize. Hang in there and let's see what we can do. Would anyone like to research possible companies so we can switch for the Fall? The only item I insist on is "our plaid". Let Joy or myself know if you are interested in taking on this challenge.
Do you like to plan parties? Our Silver Ball and Silent Auction is scheduled for Feb. 17th. Ana Cruz (mom to Jake & Collin in PK3) who is an event planner, has kindly agreed to chair the event. February is a busy time for bridal planners so Ana needs a committee to help her with the running around. Tasks include addressing and mailing invitations, sending reminders home to the parents, making or setting up centerpieces, working with Rhonda Calvert (Ist grade) on coordinating auctions items, and then actually decorating the hall on the day of the celebration. Interested? Call me!!

Many Thanks
I owe thanks to the Hernandez family for donating a new coffee pot to the teachers lounge, art supplies for our middle school kids and trinkets for our upcoming "Lord of the Springs" celebration.
The Martinez family loaded the teachers up with enough coffee supplies to last until Thanksgiving.
We are grateful to Mr. and Mrs. Schubert who mowed the entire property when our lawn company went MIA.
The Guerra family also donated a coffee pot to the teachers lounge along with supplies.
Mr. & Mrs. William Tallman (Avery's parents in PK4) procurred for our school (10) new Dell computers with all the bells and whistles. Most will replace the antiques we have in the library. We are grateful for their kindness and generosity.
Congratulations
Congratulations to our cross country team. Although their competative season was short, they practiced hard and placed third and fourth at their meet. Soccer is the next sport up and coming. See Coach Suyama for details.
